Kaya Stanley is an Opportunity Zone (OZ) attorney, real estate broker, published author, and business owner. She currently serves as General Counsel for Axxcess Capital Partners, a San Diego based investment banking firm, and she was voted one of the country’s “Top 25 OZ Attorneys” by Opportunity Zone Magazine. Ms. Stanley is a general partner of 3SN Global Impact Capital which invests in companies that specialize in clean energy, waste remediation, medical devices, and affordable housing in compliance with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. She is also serving as the Director of Business Development for NEU Communities in Nevada, a modular construction company specializing in residential, retail, and healthcare.

Ms. Stanley has served as outside counsel to Wal-Mart, Home Depot, and Kmart and later as in-house counsel and partner to a group of developers who built large commercial projects, industrial buildings, marinas, condos, and restaurants. Her restaurant and retail expertise come from 6 years as General Counsel for Marco’s Franchising (owner of Marco’s Pizza) and as Executive Director of the National Jack-in-the-Box Franchisee Association. She is the former owner of two Tropical Smoothie Café’s in Michigan.

Ms. Stanley currently serves as Trustee for the largest restaurant workers comp self-insured group in the state of California and is the former Executive Director for the National Restaurant Alliance. She is the author of the book, The Employer’s Guide to Obamacare which was published in 2014. She spent several years speaking around the country on the ACA. Her clients included national operators from McDonald’s, Burger King, El Pollo Loco, Five Guys, Counter Burger, Taco Bell, Carl’s Jr., and Denny’s. She also served as General Counsel for FreedomCare Benefits where she advised on the formation of an ACA compliant insurance program.

She and her husband also own a restaurant group in Reno, Nevada where she also sits on the board for Reno Ice, Cordillera Film Festival, the Riverwalk District, and the Truckee Meadow Housing Solutions.
