With the weather warming up, many families start the search for creative kid-friendly experiences for those summer months. If you are beginning to plan out summer fun, look no further than the Reno Riverwalk District for great things to do with the whole family.

You’d be hard-pressed to find a kid who did not love pizza. Family dinner night on the river is a great way to keep everyone happy and to enjoy the beauty of our biggest little city. Campo has pizza options that are friendly for adults and kids, and you can dine outside to take in the sights and sounds of the river. Or check out Sizzle Pie, Pizza Reno, or Pizano’s Pizza for some of Reno’s best-rated pizza.

The Riverwalk District is also home to Whitewater Park right on the Truckee River. There’s a playground, and 8 different parks with plenty of space to enjoy a picnic, take a bike ride or let the kids run and play. Feeling adventurous? Reach out to Sierra Adventures to find out what family-friendly bikes, excursions, or water equipment is available to enjoy throughout the day.

You can take the kids to play a game of Bocce Ball, which is truly fun for all ages, at Bundox Bocce, located in the fabulous Renaissance Hotel. Or catch a Reno Aces baseball game at Greater Nevada Field

The Riverwalk District is a district bursting with opportunities for education and culture, featuring our city’s most treasured museum spaces. Check out an exhibit at the Nevada Museum of Art, or take the kids to explore science and nature at the nearby Discovery Museum. The best part is that everything is so close – you can walk, catch lunch on the Riverwalk, and spend the day in one area of town, making it an easy outing for the whole family.

Escape Rooms are trendy, fun, and popular, perfect for older kids and teens. Puzzle Room Reno is Reno’s premiere escape room adventure place with unique rooms for families, teams, and small groups to work together to find clues, solve a mystery, and of course, escape the room before the clock runs out. If an escape room isn’t your speed, the Riverwalk is where to go to check out a movie at the Century Riverside 12 or see what’s on stage at the Pioneer Center for the Performing Arts.

Last but not least, walking around the Riverwalk with your kids and family is a fun way to explore our city, check out public art, and enjoy taking a selfie or two with the great and very Reno public art installations in our City Plaza
