There’s tons of fun to be had this summer on the Truckee River. Whether you’re looking for family events, or just looking for a night (or morning) out on the town, look no further than the Riverwalk.

A Weekend of Festivities

From June 7th-9th at Wingfield Park, enjoy a weekend of fun with just one pass at the Reno River Festival. Enjoy live performances from acts like Canaan Smith and The Ataris. Kids and teens will love the adventure park, featuring inflatable structures and human hamster balls. Enjoy street eats, vendors, a rafting tour, cornhole championships, and more. Ages 17 and under get in free. A portion of entry fees support Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful.

Free Music? Yes Please!

Starting June 13th, and repeating the second Thursday of each month until September, the Harmony on the River event is a great option for an evening out. Taking place from 6-8 pm at the West Street Plaza, enjoy local food trucks, craft cocktails, mocktails, and beer from the Sierra Tap House beer garden, and a free performance from the Reno Philharmonic. All ages are welcome. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs for seating.

Up Close and Personal

Tired of just looking at the river? Wish you could tackle the waters head-on? Sierra Adventures has you covered with a variety of water-based adventures to scratch any thrill-seeking or fish-catching itch. Take a guided tour of the Truckee River on a raft, a kayak, or an inner tube. Anglers may want to embark on a fishing trip and tackle the river’s bounty. For those looking to ride the currents, an unguided river float is also available. Learn more about these experiences on the Sierra Adventures website.
